Hello world!
wow. this is my first ever blog, set up for me by my husband who is far more into this stuff than i am. i admire people who can do it because i seem to have lost the will or perhaps the attention span needed to fully participate. i’ve heard tales of ranting and raving and mad conversations about pretty much everything, and i feel a certain envy at the time…but never actually do anything about it when i’m on the net…which is rare these days (one baby on the outside, another growing on the inside. heh)
OKAY. THE REAL REASON FOR THIS BLOG Is to keep a diary of what happens to me and 8 other women over the course of the next 6 weeks. No its not some new reality Tv series, and its not ‘The L Word’ - although with this many women in a cast you’d be forgiven for thinking so.
My name is Tracy, and I run a tiny teeeny weeeny very small (as in the company consists of two people really) fringe theatre company called Mind Adventures. We’ve been around since 1999, and soon i’m going to put up some stuff about our past productions, so you can get to know what kind of stuff we do.
This blog is mainly going to focus on the new production we’re putting together at the end of July. its called ‘Fefu and Her Friends’ by Maria Fornes (and yes, we’ve got the performance rights for it - everyone is muy paranoid about it all after what some bastard did to the local production of ‘Phantom’ - again, something that i’d be interested in chatting about…but not right now)
My cast consists of 8 hot women (and i mean that mostly in terms of their capabilities as actors) including Ruwanthie de Chickera, Karen Balthazaar, Anushka Pereira, Piyumiu Samaraweera, Ruhanie Perera, Fazeeha Shohorab, Lucky Attygalle and Ameena Hussein. the last three are newcomers.
the amazing thing is that i have a strong connection to each one of them, which makes directing this play all the more special…yup, more on that later too.
right now, this is to say ‘hello world : )’
why don’t you watch this space?

Hello, sounds muy interesting Trace. Will definitely be watching this space. Fingers crossed I’m in Colombo in time to see it!
Blog. What a great word.

Finally I’ve visited the world of Blogging and feel like I’ve seen it all… (hmm, does that sound really sad, like I’ve seen very little in my life?) Anyway, i’ve been back in Sri Lanka for five years now and Tracey’s plays have kept me sane during trying times (strange and oxymoronic as that may sound). Sometimes, when work gets too crazy the best thing to do is to get involved in a play that takes up every iota of your “spare” time… Nutty, Nutty.

To all the girls in in FEFU,
I think you were all absolutely gorgeose and would like to have you all over for a cast party. You reminded me of the cast in sex and the city I was trully intoxicated by some of you. Plesae let me know ASAP. I remain forever your ultimate fan.
